Jan. 19-- Washington's commissioner of public lands announced partnerships between Department of Natural Resources/private-sector companies...us[ing state forestlands] biomass.

* Klickitat County: Parametrix will convert woody biomass into liquid fuels at SDS Lumber, Bingen.

* Stevens County: Borgford BioEnergy will generate electricity, bio-oil, syngas, bio-char from wood waste.

* Okanogan County: Atlas Products will produce wood pellets.

* Clallam County: Nippon Paper Industries will use wood waste to co-generate heat/electricity at its paper mill; excess energy will be sold.
